CAPC has released the sixth episode of its groundbreaking new podcast series “A Quality Life,” featuring real-life stories from the perspectives of seriously-ill patients who are benefiting from palliative care. This series shines light on a wide variety of disease-types including ovarian, colorectal and breast cancer, pulmonary hypertension, lupus, congestive heart failure and many more.
In this episode, we hear from Angela James, a 37-year old woman living with a multitude of illnesses, including lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. As Angela’s symptoms worsened, her quality of life began to deteriorate, until she was referred to palliative care. Angela shares how palliative care managed her symptoms and provided the additional layer of support she needed in this honest take on how palliative care can improve quality of life for people with serious illnesses.
