The nomination period for the Technical Expert Clinical User Patient Panel (TECUPP) and Measure Specification Panel (MSP) for the CMS Palliative Care Measures Project is now open. Nominations can be submitted until January 4, 2019.

This project is a collaboration between the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM), with support from the National Coalition for Hospice and Palliative Care (NCHPC) and RAND Inc. This joint effort has been formed in response to the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) to develop patient reported outcome performance measures in the areas of pain and symptom management and communication, for patients with serious illness (including those receiving palliative care).

The NCHPC is accepting both self-nominations and third-party nominations for individual(s) to serve on the TECUPP, and aims to include all members of the interdisciplinary team as well as patients, caregivers, and quality measurement experts. More information, including detailed requirements can be found here.
