The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) is celebrating its 20th year anniversary with the launch of an ambitious five-year campaign aimed at improving the quality of care delivered to the millions living with a serious illness. The goal of the national effort—Project Tipping Point—is to expand patient access to the principles and practices of palliative care by 2024.

The campaign will focus on 1) increasing access to quality palliative care services across the full continuum of care ─ in the hospital, at home, in office practices, and in long term care settings; and 2) enhancing knowledge and skill, in complex pain and symptom management and doctor/patient/family communication, among all other specialties and disciplines.

To kick off the campaign, CAPC issued the first Tipping Point Challenge, a competition among CAPC member organizations designed to catalyze the spread of knowledge and skills among palliative care specialists and non-palliative care specialists alike.

Taking place from this January to the end of 2019, the challenge will focus on the number of course completions and the number of designations.

No application is required, and all member organizations are automatically eligible to compete in the challenge. For more information on Project Tipping Point and the Tipping Point Challenge, click here.
